I first discovered my love for storytelling at a young age. I always had a camera nearby, and was drawn to the quiet magic of everyday moments. What fascinated me most were the candid, in-between seconds—the laughter that happens after the photo is “supposed” to be taken, the soft glances, the fleeting expressions that so often go unnoticed. Even then, I felt a deep sense of joy in capturing those moments and preserving them.
Over time, that early curiosity grew into something much more meaningful. What began as a childhood passion slowly evolved into my career and creative purpose. While I do have a photographic memory, I’ve always believed there is something far more powerful about an actual photograph. A picture holds emotion, history, and presence in a way memory alone cannot—it tells a story that can be revisited, shared, and felt again years later.
I feel most like myself when I’m behind the camera, creating images that are honest, emotive, and lasting. Photography allows me to observe the world
differently—to notice the subtleties, the light, the feeling in a room—and transform those details into something meaningful. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my work, but that care comes from a genuine love for what I do and the people whose stories I’m trusted to document.
Outside of my work, I’m someone who appreciates the simple, grounding parts of life: slow mornings, long walks, good coffee (often from Starbucks), and sharing laughter with family and friends. Those small rituals keep me balanced and inspired.
I’m originally from Minnesota, but many of my childhood memories were spent visiting my grandparents in Naples, Florida. Because of that, both places hold a special place in my heart, and I’m grateful to feel connected to each in different ways.
One day, I hope to have a home with a beautiful porch and a swing—a place where time slows down and life can be savored a little more. I’m not entirely sure where that porch will be yet, but I trust that the right place will reveal itself when the time comes.
I like to think of myself as intuitive and quick on my feet, someone who follows good energy and stays present in the moment. Above all, I value peace—protecting it, nurturing it, and creating a life that reflects it. I’ve been doing my best to maintain that balance since ’84.
My photography approach focuses on freezing the real, unfiltered moments that tell your true story. I strive to document the honest, fleeting emotions of today to be cherished tomorrow. My goal is to capture the connections that can't be rehearsed—the unscripted laughs, the stolen glances, and the quiet moments of reflection—preserving not just how things looked, but how they felt.
She didn’t miss a beat and her attention to detail astonished me! There are so many photographers to choose from but when we met Alex, we knew immediately she was the perfect fit for us. She made taking pictures fun and we love every single one of them. We are so happy to have these memories of our friends and family. I would high recommend Alex to anyone looking for a photographer. Her artistic talent is so impressive, she's professional and so easy to work with.
Alex made our engagement photo shoot so much fun. She is so sweet and yet very professional and punctual. The entire experience was so smooth and very natural. We both enjoyed our time with her and the pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous. She was also extremely fast at getting the pictures edited back to us. I highly recommend booking her!
Working with Picture Me Lovely was the best choice we made! We were nervous about hiring a photographer because we are both awkward in front of the camera and didn't want to feel like we were being watched the entire day. Alex made the whole day feel so natural and we couldn't be happier with our photos. We highly recommend her! We loved working with Picture Me Lovely!
